Lune 1860, a celestial space of design and light | Feature by NUVO Magazine

An article in Nuvo Magazine written by Ben Dreith introduces us to the Lune 1980 project, a refurbishment of an old estate by Lisa Mok along with the interior design expertise of Studio Author.

Built in 1860, the country house and surrounding acres of farm and forest in Ontario’s countryside serve both as a private residence and event space for Mok.

“To bring Lune 1860 to life, the former graphic designer found an old estate in rural Ontario that fit perfectly with her vision. The 19th-century Italianate home had the hybridity common of many North American estates, but its transformation shows that Mok had something else in mind. “I was very much about not making the space look like an Italian villa, because I feel like if you really want that, you should go to Italy. For us to really produce something that doesn’t exist in this country is so ingenuine,” she says.

“Lune 1860” showcases Pure & Original’s commitment to excellence and its ability to transform ordinary spaces into authentic works of art.
