Samples recommended

Digital screens are not a reliable source for colour selection. It’s best to order our hand-painted colour card.

250 ml sample pots in the Classico finish and Metallics are available for purchase at the online store. Select the colour and sample size to test for accurate coverage and colour representation on your surface and light conditions.

Surface preparation: In some cases, proper adhesion requires preparation with our OmniPrim, a multi-primer that is excellent for prepping wooden surfaces or, for example, PVC.

  • What is Pure & Original Traditional lacquer paint?

Pure & Original Traditional Paint is a water-based lacquer paint available in different levels of sheen -eggshell, high-gloss, and metallic finishes. Lacquer paints are known to be fast-drying and durable. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor usage, it is a versatile paint commonly used in woodworking, furniture, cabinets, and other surfaces where a smooth and glossy appearance is desired. We’ve seen it used on doors and windows, radiators, and even walls.

  • What is the difference between eggshell and high-gloss paint finishes?

Eggshell and high-gloss paint finishes differ in their sheen levels and aesthetic qualities. Eggshell finishes have a subtle, low sheen resembling the surface of an eggshell, providing a soft, smooth appearance. In contrast, high-gloss finishes deliver a shiny and reflective surface, offering a bold and vibrant look.

Unlike some gloss finishes, all Pure & Original Tradition Paints finishes are durable and easy to clean.

  • How do you apply lacquer paints?

Applying lacquer gloss paints like Traditional Paint starts with a clean and primed surface. In most cases, proper adhesion requires preparation with our OmniPrim primer. Do not paint in direct sunlight. Stir the lacquer paint according to our instructions and apply it evenly using a round or flat brush, a felt roller for water-based lacquer paint, or airless. For the Elements collection only, our Japanese Spatula is recommended for textured application and for application over Marrakech Walls lime-plaster paint. Find our tools here.

For detailed instructions, refer to the Traditional Paint technical data sheet per finish. See eggshell finish, high-gloss finish, or Elements metallic finish.

  • Is Traditional Paint an eco-friendly lacquer paint?

Pure & Original Traditional Paint is a water-based lacquer known for its eco-friendly qualities. Colored with natural pigments, it offers solid, vibrant finishes with very high coverage. This environmentally conscious paint is wear-resistant, scrub-resistant, and suitable for humid areas, combining durability with low solvent content and little to no odor. Experience a sustainable choice that transforms spaces with style and environmental friendliness.

  • Can I apply lacquer paint to wood and metal?

You can apply our Traditional lacquer paint to many different surfaces, such as on doors and windows, but also on furniture, radiators, and even walls. Water-based lacquer, mainly used for doors, windows, and baseboards, or as a finish on wood, is also a perfect finish to give a different and exclusive look to your walls or ceiling, including those in bathrooms and kitchens.
